چکیده

The numerical simulation of a level IV fugacity model coupled to a dispersion-advection equation to simulate the environmental concentration of a pesticide in rice fields is presented. The model simulates the dynamic distribution of the pesticide in a compartmental system constituted by air, water, rice plants and bottom sediment together with saturated soil layers. The level IV fugacity model is given by a linear system of ordinary differential equations that considers the fugacities and, consequently, the concentrations of the pesticide in air, water, rice plants and bottom sediment. The dispersion-advection equation simulates the pesticide leaching in the saturated layers of the soil, considering the hydrodynamic dispersion, the pesticide degradation rate and the soil pesticide absorption in the saturated soil layer. c © 2008 Elsevier Ltd. DISPERSION OF CONTAMINANTS IN GROUNDWATER WITH CHEMICAL REACTION

A mathematical model presented in this paper describes the dispersion and concentration ofcontaminants (fine and coarse) in porous medium with the effect of chemical reaction. Solutetransport in porous media is discussed by means of advection-dispersion equation. The effectof particle mass parameter and reaction rate parameter on the dispersion coefficient and meanconcentration of a chemical so...

Checking the Sensitivity of Solute Advection- Dispersion Model to Reaction Coefficients and River Hydraulic Properties in the Process of Dissolved Oxygen Simulation

Nowadays, environmental pollutions especially water pollution is increasingly developing. One of the problems of entering the pollutants to rivers is reduction in the concentration of river dissolved oxygen. In order to manage the water resources, amount of dissolved oxygen should be predicted. This study presents a novel equation for simulating the concentration of river dissolved oxygen by ad...

Two-dimensional advection-dispersion equation with depth- dependent variable source concentration

The present work solves two-dimensional Advection-Dispersion Equation (ADE) in a semi-infinite domain. A variable source concentration is regarded as the monotonic decreasing function at the source boundary (x=0). Depth-dependent variables are considered to incorporate real life situations in this modeling study, with zero flux condition assumed to occur at the exit boundary of the domain, i.e....

Development of Advection-Dispersion Model of Dissolved Oxygen Using Numerical Solutions

Urban and industrial wastewaters are considered as the most contaminant of surface water. Entrance   of these pollutants to the river reduces the concentration of dissolved oxygen and aquatic life will be threatened. So, one of the main qualitative characteristics of water resources management is the concentration of dissolved oxygen. The base of the   developed model in this investigation is t...
